I just got this message in an invitation to connect:
You probably know I designed JibberJobber.com as a tool to help organize and keep track of a job search - most of which is keeping track of network contacts. So I'm greatly biased here, but I want to make a distinction ...

Just read an article on RecruitingBlogs by Hung Lee titled Who Owns Your LinkedIn Profile? What EVERYONE Needs To Know.
By the ominous title I'd suggest that you already know the answer... YOU DON'T.
Well, let's clarify that a bit. Lee's article is all about the ownership outside of LinkedIn's Terms of ...

I get this regularly. I think this is poor logic and irresponsible connecting.
Just because we share a group means we should connect?
Please... please give me a better reason. Tell me how you found my Profile (same group - that's okay) and then tell me WHY it makes sense to connect.
I'd ...

I read this post a few days ago: My Problem with LinkedIn.
The author (Tom Nixon) presents the idea that it's not really "the social network's fault," it's really our fault because we are using it wrong.

I just saw a blog post by VirtualJobCoach (the first competitor I had with JibberJobber, and some very good people :)) titled "The Trouble with LinkedIn: Bigger is not better"
In the post they argue that if you get a bigger network you are playing the numbers game and NOT "really ...

LinkedIn has a great opportunity to clean up spam on its network... it would be a very simple enhancement that would help the community self-police.
On a LinkedIn Profile page, on the right, there are a bunch of links:
The closest they get to deleting a contact is to "report profile photo ...

That is Peter Newfield's question on LinkedIn... there are 22 answers and it's really interesting.
Some say the early adopters are out because they just go look for shiny stuff, but the value is still definitely there.
Others say that LinkedIn moved Answers off the main menu and that has decreased the ...

I'm working on my third book, titled Eight Lunches. It's a cool idea and I'm actually looking at people to review the latest draft (more info and an excerpt here).
While I'm asking for people to review the draft and provide feedback that can help the book be more solid, I'm ...

Here's a question I got from someone asking about the value of Monster in a job search:
(1) With LinkedIn's new Company Follow feature, LI Recruiter/Premium Membership, LI Corporate Accounts and (2) of course the fact that most of its revenue comes from ads and job postings, (3) how is LinkedIn ...
