I agree Julie. A well done profile is vital. If you answer 100 questions a day but your profile is lacking, it will not encourage that prospect to follow through to actually contact you.

The natural progression when I see an answer from someone on LinkedIn that I think is relevant to something I'm looking for, is to go to their profile next to learn more about them. I'm sure many others follow the same path.

I know LinkedIn has played a role with a number of my clients but one stands out. This spring, I had a message in my inbox from someone that I never had any interaction with before. He must have read something in my profile that interested him because he asked how he would get started with me, first to create his resume and then in the future, he wants to hire me for input on a new website he is working on.

An executive who works in the UK and commutes to his home in California, he bought one of my largest packages and was a joy to work with.

Can you make money through LinkedIn? sure, as long as you are honest and visible. Anthony is right that most of the time, Q&A will help you grow in visibility but with one of the most powerful search engines working for you, with a well done profile, you never know.

I agree money can be made on LinkedIn both directly and inDirectly. I have had clients come to me based on Answers I posted in the Q & A section of LinkedIn numerous times.

Some of these were direct answers to a question of WebConferencing or TeleConferencing and others were from people searching and stumbling on my answers left previously.

Either way they contacted me due to my presence on LinkedIn and the history of answers left that show consistent knowledge of my field.

The key to making money on LinkedIn is definately in the Q & A section. I doubt much can come just from a profile. You have to be active.
