I had lunch with a finance executive of a large manufacturer that I "met" on LinkedIn nine months ago through the InMail feature. He's up to 300+ connections and told me that he will no longer take vendor calls or consider doing business with representatives of vendors unless they have a robust LinkedIn profile. It's more validation of Web2.0 and the fact that sales people better be out there promoting themselves and their companies because prospects don't have time to build rapport the old fashioned way. LinkedIn cuts that time down to seconds as prospective buyers/decision makers can weed out weaker sales people by doing a quick LinkedIn search.

Your book has been helpful in getting my profile up to speed on what is demanded by our instant feedback culture. As a sales professional I find your blog helpful to make sure I'm staying up-to-date on what's new I LinkedIn and what I can do with it to bring value to my lead generation efforts.
