Just exchanged email with linkedin support about lmoudules.com popping up on linkedin.com site. It appears that they have no clue of what's going on here. Pretty sad.

Paul, I'm with You on that! Firefox with NoScript is the only way to go - because You can allow only what You want to see. Other handy add-ons I use: FEBE (backup FF plugins environment), ZOTERO (awesome for research and snapshots) and Web Developer.

If I had to deal with popup ads on LinkedIn, I would not use LinkedIn.

Cheers,
 DaveM

It's been happening for a long time.

As a result I switched to Firefox 3 with NoScript installed. I only allow content from linkedin.com linkedinlabs.com and lmodules.com I don't get any poorly behaved flash ads.

As a result linkedin is really fast for me as I no longer get all those ads.

Jason,

I think it's because LinkedIn lets their advertisers just check in any old sort of Flash scripts. Some can be loud and obnoxious, others do pop-outs (like SafeCount), and so forth. Until they are shown to NOT pull new participants, or enough people actually complain to LinkedIn, I doubt LinkedIn will do anything to change it. They may not even know the advertiser is doing it.

With you on that. These ads are quite intrusive and the close button seems to be tucked away in some invisible corner.Took some time to find and close.
