I just tested it and it said it sent an email to all of my contacts...I hope that's true LOL..but not as I had something wrong in the info box. Oops...It crashed on me twice before I got it to go through too.

I am betting the top events pay for the blast.

@Jan - I totally agree about adding new things. It seems like they are working hard to remove some differentiation between LinkedIn and Facebook, and I think they are going to see more crap content because of it.

@Adam, I see 6,217 ... I wonder what caused the jump (I wrote this a few nights ago).

I was quite impressed with the relevance (to my industry) of the events that were returned when I first checked out LinkedIn events. I was expecting it to be a similar experience to groups - difficult to find anything of relevance, without having to click through pages and pages to find anything of interest, but events seem to be very relevant, and easy to filter.

BTW, Events are now sitting at 6,213, so perhaps that explosion has just started to build up...

Hi Jason,

I agree with you that this can be a powerful extra tool on LinkedIn.

But as you say: it needs better placement. Now people almost stumble accidentally over it.

I'm curious what else LinkedIn is going to add and at which pace: first applications, now events in two weeks time. I hope they won't add much extra features anymore because otherwise people will feel overwhelmed like on Facebook or Ecademy.

To be continued I guess :-)
