LinkedIn 2.0?

December 11th, 2007 | by Jason Alba |

First response on the street is “it’s about time.”

Digging a little deeper, there are some cool things here, and some things that are still feel kind of old.

This is a much needed update, and it’s good progress, but it’s not done yet.  There are still questions about what the API is going to mean, and what impact Open Social will have on the preliminary API announcement.   And of course there are still feature requests from users.

Overall, I give it a thumbs-up – if you haven’t been into your LinkedIn account in a while, now is a good time to go check it out!

More info on a google blog search search.

It’s not obvious – what’s changed? It looks the same as always. Maybe this is some kind of PC only thing.

Not sure how to sum it up, there are a number of interface changes, and they are pulling in some data based on you and your profile… but like I said, there is a lot left to do. This is like a much needed polish, but asked-for-functionality is still on the waiting list.
